The most anticipated season of all has arrived, Christmas. Shopping centers and many of our homes are already decorated, and you can feel people's eagerness to begin their holiday shopping. So why not start planning the strategies for a Christmas campaign? Below, we show you 4 steps you can follow to plan and create a successful holiday season campaign.

  • Define your objectives and segment your audience
  • Plan the promotion
  • Nurture your customers
  • Launch your campaign and measure the results

1. Define your objectives and segment your audience

Set sales objectives. We recommend that the objective be SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound), and that you compare it against the previous year's sales data. This allows us to analyze the performance of our efforts, whether in marketing or in any area of the company that needs to organize and measure results systematically.

This is an effective way to improve sales figures, provide a better experience during the buyer's journey, create the right content for the customer who is looking for it and be present at the right moment on the right device.

If you have already defined your business's buyer persona, you will be able to delimit your strategy, since not everyone is at the same stage of the buyer's journey. Read: A three-step guide to building your buyer persona

2. Plan the promotion

Christmas is a season in which planning is important; because of the high demand and the different promotions you may run, analyzing results is easier. As part of this planning, you must choose the channels through which you will drive the promotion of your business.

  • Email: Separate the list of contacts to whom you want to send the promotion, use your CRM tool What is a CRM and what is it for? and segment to find a more specific group of people.

Well-targeted emails normally take priority over mass emails. Once the contacts for this send have been identified, it is time to begin the process of creating the actual email: subject line, body copy and sharing options.

  • Blog: The blog is an effective element within the campaign; it extends your reach and works by drawing people to your offer. However, it is also a good idea to include a call to action so that the offer makes more sense.
  • Social media: Now that you have sent emails and implemented the blog, to make your campaign more tangible, you can begin promoting on social media by sharing the blog post or the link to the landing page. Make sure to adapt the promotion to each social platform.

3. Nurture your customers

As we mentioned earlier, the ideal is to segment opportunities, that is, to divide potential customers, because receiving content will make more sense to them that way. It is at this point that your business chooses how to nurture those potential customers in order to narrow the focus of your objectives, in the process of nurturing your relationship with the customer and achieving their conversion into a qualified lead. You must decide whether they become subscribers, direct them to a landing page or build a closer relationship with those customers.

4. Launch your campaign and measure the results

Once your campaign is underway, direct all the traffic to the website. Finally, but not least, once the campaign has had some time to gain traction among people through different channels, you will want to know how it has performed and analyze the data so you can learn from the good results.

No matter which platform you decide to share your content on, you will always need organization, planning and measurement of results for future campaigns. Now that you have this information, don't go without running your marketing campaign for a season as important for sales as Christmas.
